Well it’s official
Not only have we been rated by the South African tourism council as 3 Star Accommodation with distinction ( we scored 100% in the cleanliness, amenities and housekeeping sections ) but our BLOG is now the most POPULAR page viewed by customers of Treasure Africa, our host
As the summer draws to a close we can reveal great plans for the next summer season. For those of you returning in Spring you will notice we have a new pool and a new terrace area. All the rooms will have been redecorated and we have added a new room as well.
Never could we have imagined that so many of you would choose to spend time with us and keep coming back. We have just welcomed a booking from Janet storey for 3 months over Summer. The reason why we asked. ‘ because Hout Bay View is simply all i need to relax and enjoy the stunning views from all around the property’. And as 2 newly weds who stayed with us in March kindlt said ‘ so easy to find but so difficult to leave’.
Our guests Sani and Ranjid lived furthest from us in India but others came from Canada, New Zealand, America and of course many of you from South Africa as well. Quite a conversation at breakfast ( a little like the United Nations).
For those of you who already have enjoyed and savoured the views from Hout Bay View we hope you keep those as stunning memories of your time in Hout Bay and Cape Town and to those of you who are still undecided about your accommodation in Hout Bay imagine a place so quiet with views that will take your breath away, a coffee taken on a terrace that will offer you unsurpassed views of Chapman’s Peak and the ocean, reading a book feeling the sun on your face and the only interruptions is the sound of the exquisitely coloured sun-birds squabbling over who’s turn it is to take a bath in the bird bath in the garden…………. you must be staying at Hout Bay View.
Thank you for looking at our blog today we hope you might feel moved to write a comment if you stayed with us.
We are ready to welcome you if you need accommodation for any length of stay or even those very special times like anniversaries or even wedding nights and honeymoons
Have a very pleasant day where you are…….we are waiting for your call

Well the festive spirit has truly been great at Hout Bay View and guests just can’t get enough of turkey omelette’s! Bucks fizz and mince pies! But enough of that, I can feel myself gaining weight as we speak!
We have wonderful news in that we now offer a self catering apartment in Cote D’Azure Hout Bay. This fantastic top floor, two bedroom apartment will be available from the beginning of February onwards. Amongst it’s extremely convenient location to the shops and short walk to the beach this apartment has incredible views of Hout Bay from both bedrooms and lounge diner. Sleeping up to six adults we think this represents and ideal location for families and friends wanting somewhere central and convenient to relax and unwind in penthouse style!
The apartment has a fully fitted kitchen, two bathrooms (so there will be no queuing!) newly renovated to a high standard you’ll be hard pushed to decide if you want to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine enjoying the stunning views of the sea and mountains or to enjoy your own fine dining admiring it from the table! Either way guests are sure to enjoy their stay there! The lounge has a wide screen tv, dvd, vcr and hi fi. Kitchen appliances include a large fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave and if you really want to relax we offer housekeeping!
All in all we are very pleased with the launch of this sea view apartment in Hout Bay pictures, details and prices will be released shortly on both our web site and www.treasureafrica.com
If you have any questions or enquiries don’t be shy just drop us a line!
Wishing you all the very best for the New Year!
Andrew

It seems like we have had 3 seasons in one day. When i woke this morning it was so wet i thought we might float away but then it stopped raining and the sun came out. I took the opportunity to take the dogs to Sandy bay and the view was breathtaking. The dogs love the big sandy dunes and by the time we finished they were done and could hardly jump into the car!.
All 12 of our guests were heading to cape point today. It’s one of the big 5 things to do and if you stay at Hout Bay View I am sure you will visit to. Last night 8 of them took a sunset cruise from the waterfront.
I am looking across the bay from the office and it is such a beautiful scene. The summer light is my favorite. We have whales in the bay at the moment. A mother and calf playing for hours just off the beach. All the dog walkers stop and watch whilst others go to the vantage point at Chapman’s peak to get a better view.
The sun will set soon and we will be treated to another amazing display of nature. I wonder what color it will be tonight. The spa is free so i might watch it set from there.

With the temp over the 30c mark yesterday and today summer has truly arrived! It’s been a beautiful and cloudless day her today and just to prove it here are a couple of pics taken today, the first being on the patio sipping a lovely glass of chardonnay the second was while sitting in the new jacuzzi, wow! indeed a relaxing day!

The season has really begun with the bank holiday weekend. We have been uber busy with guests and assisting in organizing bookings and tours. Next month also proves to be very busy when we have another wedding group arriving for 10 days the lucky and beautiful couple Becki and Justin will by tying the knot in mid October at Monkey Valley, all the very best to them! and more on that nearer the time.
But it doesn’t stop there! One of your hosts (moi Andrew!) has also been busy starring in some promotional filming in Hout Bay over the past weekend! To find how out exciting it was you’ll need to read up on us in the couple of days!
Yes fresh from Bollywood this young(ish) actor (myself) played his part in the promotional DVD for the Hop on Hop Off Bus tours for Cape Town. As part of their expansion programme the will be shortly offering tours of IY through Africa Moni and seasoned tour guide for IY in Hout Bay. His knowledge if vast and his inthusiasm is fantastic. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day with the small cast learning much about IY, it’s residents and life in the township and well recommend booking a township tour through the company. The DVD will be out shortly for release (it’s hard to say when, it’s obviously going to be a box office hit!) but the tours are well worth checking out!

We have just started renovations to upgrade all our rooms and will soon start on the outside of the property.
A complete new paint over for the outside and a new design for the swimming pool area. We are going to re-tile the whole of the outside wall and make the swimming pool more comfortable for you all to enjoy the time you spend relaxing there.
Watch this space for more details.
