Description

The Lions Club of Hout Bay Craft Market is proud to be one of the finest craft markets in the Western Cape and crafters travel from far away to exhibit and trade here. The market is open every single Sunday of the year from 10.00 – 17.00 and the setting for the market is breathtaking.   We are situated on the Village Green, Main Road Hout Bay, surrounded by magnificent mountains and dotted with indigenous trees. Many Hout Bay residents, visitors and overseas guests to South Africa visit our market.

The crafters themselves are a happy-go-lucky bunch who exude the peaceful, country vibe that IS Hout Bay and the variety of crafts is enormous.

One can purchase clothing, knitwear, leather work, iron and steel work, African curious and wire work, basket work, handmade soaps and toiletries, woodwork, pottery and ceramics, needlework, glass work, mirrors, jewelry, paintings, puppets, candlewicking and braunmalerie, shell ware, hammocks, plants and cacti, dried fruit and nuts, children’s toys/games plus much more.

DARG (Domestic Animal Rescue Group) often bring dogs of all shapes and sizes to our market to find “new parents” for them.

We have jumping castle and pony rides for the youngsters.   Wandering minstrels and buskers entertain visitors and we have a face painter to brighten up the children’s faces.

We also have our popular kilo bookstall and our second hand book stall plus collectables and antiques for folk who want to take home something more than hand made.

Food stalls – we have those in abundance  - a Malay kitchen, home made soups in the winter and smoothies in the summer, hamburgers, toasted sandwiches, hotdogs, cooldrinks, tea, coffee and pancakes.  Vegetarian foods and falafels, cakes, doughnuts and ice cream, spring rolls and much more.

The Lions Club of Hout Bay Craft market is an outing for the whole family, a place where one can browse and purchase, picnic and relax and just soak up the sun – whilst enjoying THE Hout Bay experience.

All funds generated from this craft market go back into the Hout Bay community.   The Lions Club of Hout Bay serves the elderly, disabled, disadvantaged and youth.

I have been creating bespoke jewellery for more than 20 years. It is important that jewellery fits comfortably and also reflects the personality of those wearing it.
