POPLAR TREE LODGE – Superior self- catering accommodation in Hout Bay, Cape Town

Nestling against the mountainside in quiet cul de sac in a lovely part of Hout Bay, Poplar Tree Lodge offers fully equipped and superior self-catering accommodation and boasts wonderful views across the valley. The lodge is just 5 minutes drive from the restaurants, shops, beach the harbour and the start of Chapman’s Peak Drive. And, because the location is on the side of the Bay that enjoys the sun until late afternoon, the sunsets can be spectacular.

The 4 suites which sleep between 2 & 4 people all have Satellite TV channels, wi-fi internet access (nil charge), a DVD/CD player, digital safes and there is secure on-site parking. The Lodge features a communal pool, sun deck & patio and has attractive tiered gardens. There are BBQ available. The suites are serviced daily Monday – Saturday (excl. public holidays). For those wanting bed and breakfast there is the option of a Continental breakfast served on the patio or in the guest’s own suite at an additional cost at R60 per person.

As well as being ideally located to explore the Cape Peninsular and enjoy the spectacular views along Chapman’s Peak Drive the lodge is really well positioned for wine tasting on the Constantia Wine Route and experiencing  the world-class restaurants and cosmopolitan night life of Camps Bay and Cape Town city.

Tree Top Suite Our premier suite features a large bedroom with a king-size four-poster bed, occasional chairs, satellite TV channels, DVD/CD player wi-fi etc. The large bathroom includes a corner bath and separate shower. There is a fully equipped kitchen/diner complete with a dining table and wicker chairs. The suite has recently been redecorated and has new curtains and blinds in all areas so it is looking extra smart & fresh. Both the bedroom and the kitchen/diner open onto a large deck with spectacular views across the valley.     Sleeps 2 (can also accommodate children – please ask for details)

Garden Suite A calm and restful suite. The bedroom has either a double or twin beds, the bathroom has a bath and separate shower and the large living area includes a day bed and a double sleeper couch, as well as a fully equipped kitchenette with dining table & chairs. There are satellite TV channels, a DVD/CD Player etc. New curtains, blinds and cushions throughout give the suite a fresh and new look .The suite opens directly onto its own veranda and small gated garden which enjoy great views over Hout Bay valley and to the  mountains. Garden Suite even has its own entrance gate within the secure property.          Sleeps 2/ 3 – maximum 4.

Valley View Suite A light & fresh 3 bedroom suite featuring a bedroom with a comfortable double bed, a bathroom with a roll top bath and a separate glass shower cubicle plus a large living area that includes a fully equipped kitchenette, a small dining table & chairs, a double sleeper couch, a day bed, satellite TV, DVD/CD player, wi-fi access etc The suite has recently been redecorated and fitted with new blinds and cushions throughout and so is looking bright and fresh. The suite looks over the Hout Bay valley to the dunes of Sandy Bay and to the pool and mountains.    Sleeps 2/ 3 – maximum 4.

Studio Suite Our more compact/budget suite with either a double bed or twin beds, a small dining table & chairs, a concealed kitchenette plus an en-suite bathroom. There is satellite TV  a DVD/CD player, wi-fi access etc.  The suite has a wall of windows that open onto a paved patio looking to the tiered garden at the top/ back of the lodge.   Sleeps 2.
